Hi there to one and all. Here we are and the calendar says it is the 1st day of June. Things have been going on for one month already, but it seems as though every conversation ends up being about the weather and how bad mother nature has treated us. Despite this, things have been happening at your ECC. Golf wise, the Senior Men got their Friday morning league started first. They have been up for their coffee and rolls four times, but rain only let them play twice. The Primetimers got started on May 12th. For those of you that wish to join them, they now play on Monday mornings. Coffee is about 9:30 and golf starts at 10:00 Also, the Men’s Tuesday League and the Ladie’s Wednesday league are in full swing. The opening party on the 17th went well. The coolness of the day seemed to take a back-seat once the players got on the course and into the spirit of the outing. The delicious hors-oeuvre really hit the spot and the day was topped off with the games and entertainment. Have you tried the ribs? We mean the ribs by chef Chad. There were a number of restaurants that served up their best rib recipes for the “ribfest”, the ECC ribs placed second as per vote of the public. “ Good-on-yous” to Merry and Bob Dufresne and Judde and Matt Snyder for their job in passing out the ribs. Lest we forget, Chef Chad gets an A+ Into the present- “ June is busting out all over.” Let’s go through the month to let you know what’s going on. School gets out on the 6th and the ever important Junior Golf Program starts on June 9th. It is on every Monday in June, the tournament and picnic is on June 30th. Sign up sheets are in the Pro Shop. On Thursday, June 12th is the start of “Coonie Weekend”. On this day we welcome our friends from Birch Run, their golf event starts at 11:00. Later on that afternoon is the Pre-Coonie, tee times start at 2:30. Saturday and Sunday is the Coonie Hogan Three Man Scramble. This is a great money maker for your club. Now, hint, hint. June 15th is Father’s day; the Pro Shop has a great selection to please him on his special day. Thursday, June 19th is the Two Woman Ryder Cup; shotgun start is at 12:00. The next event is back by popular demand. It is a non-golf event and is for the kids, it is called the family fun day. It takes place on Saturday the 21st from 3:00 – 7:00. Kerri Lancour heads up this fun day and is looking for some door prizes if you can help. Don’t forget the swimsuits for the kids. The cost is $10.00 per family and is topped off with a picnic lunch. The month is closed out with two very worthwhile events. The Cancer Alliance Outing on the 26th, and the Esky Fan Club Outing on the 28th. Sign up sheets are in the Pro Shop.
